Release Notes - November 2023

Improvements & New features 

• Roster settings - updates to the platform job type settings mean that the admin portal top navigation will respect the selected settings:  The standard-only setting will display jobs in the menu;  Rosters only setting will display rosters in the menu;  Standard and/or rosters setting will display both jobs and rosters.
• Edit employee allowances - admins must now have ‘Edit Employment Type, position and pay rate’ setting turned on to view/edit allowances in the Employee Card. This avoids scenarios where unauthorised employees had access to allowances.
• Manually generating ABA files can now be assigned to a new or existing batch – for platforms with batching enabled, generating an ABA now mirrors payslip generation allowing admin users to create, or add an ABA file to an existing batch.
• Toast notification moved position - the slide in notification toast will now appear from the bottom right and stack upwards rather than from the top right and stack down. 
• Bulk Assign Tags - this feature has been expanded to include all filtered entries in the Approved People list. This ensures that all approved people will be assigned a tag if the admin uses the Bulk Assign Tag feature. 
• TFN documents for contractors - newly added contractors will no longer get a partially completed TFN document stored on their profile under documents. 
• People In Work report - ‘period ending’ has been updated to ‘week ending’ in the report. This ensures consistent language across the report. 
• Ability to cap the negative leave balance of an employee - admin users can now specify a cap on the employee negative leave balance if this option is toggled on. 
• Removed Rate Label Pay Items from the Pay Item and Allowance Library - previously these were displayed in the Pay Item and Allowance Library, but no action could be performed on them (edit etc).  Have now removed the rate label pay items from displaying in the library to clean up the page and improve performance.   
• Workers Compensation fields - Now support hyphens and brackets ( - - )  in the workers compensation name field. Text validation was added to these fields which prevented admins updating their legacy rates if they also included hyphens and brackets, this has been fixed. 
• Drawer component refinements - UI enhancements to the drawer component provide a better viewing experience for users. 
• New fields on Termination Report - a “gender” and “employment type” column has been added to the report. 
• Archived positions prevented from being added to Position Groups - positions that have been archived will no longer appear in the list of positions available to add to a Position Group.   
• Date picker - Improvements to the date picker button allows admin users to skip between fixed date ranges, and aligns mobile and desktop experiences. 
• STP toast warning - The STP toast warning (“You have overdue STP files for submission”) has been replaced with a red notification dot next to Single Touch Payroll in the Pay dropdown list. This change ensures that only admins who focus on pay items are warned about overdue STP files. 

Bug fixes 

• Loading roster template error - when uploading roster templates to a blank week the system was throwing an error 'Roster already has shifts applied.' This issue has been fixed. 
• Platform wide ATO Pills - UI update to the ATO pills displayed across the platform notifying users of selections relevant to STP.  This update also includes a direct link (in the tooltip) to the ATO's guidance page around these categories helping users make more informed choices. 
• Correct Termination issue for employees with LWOP - in certain situations an employee with a leave without pay type was throwing an error when trying to terminate them. This has been fixed. 
• ABA debit entry records updated - fixed an edge case issue where incorrect details couldn’t be updated for the BSB of debit entry options on ABA settings. 
• Break start time issue in Award Test mock times - fixed the incorrect validation that was saying a break was ending after shift end time in the mock times page of award test when the shift was overnight. 
• Resource Centre Unresponsive for some users - fixed an issue where the Resource Centre appeared unresponsive for some admin users.
