Release Notes - August 2023

Improvements & New features 

  • Maintain filter when editing payslips - where a user applies a filter, and then edits a payslip, the system will now keep results filtered when returning to the Pay page. This should save many clicks for users who prefer to manage payslips in groups using filters like operations or office codes. Users can clear the filter by opening the filter draw, clearing the filter, or using the navigation bar and selecting pay. 
  • Pay search improvements - made changes to speed up the process of searching through large numbers of payslips.  This will be noticed most when searching for partial matches within results but improves the experience for all actions.
  • Timesheet table updated on Operation page - the Timesheets dropdown on an operation has been updated to the new table style, loading data much more efficiently.  
  • Fixed validation issue for “Use rates book rate” when classification was 3 decimals - classifications can be entered as 3 decimals whereas rates books will go to 2. This was causing validation issues and has now been fixed.  
  • Add Branch Code is STP2 YTD Report - addition of a branch code column into the STP2 YTD report and CSV export which will provide further clarity/visibility, especially around EOFY time.
  • Removal of STP1 Allowance Setting from UI - the setting "is allowance reported through STP? If so, how should it be submitted?" has been removed from UI as it only relates to STP1 reporting and can cause confusion for users. As we have transitioned over to STP2, this setting is no longer required.  Improvements to address validation in the onboarder - this should fix the remaining cases where employees would enter their address incompletely or with a combination of a manual and Google validation and result in a partial or no address which could cause errors.  
  • SMSF updates on super-stream export from the Super page - updated the export so self-managed super funds’ full details appear in the fund name column and ABN appears in the fund ID column.
  • Employee Milestone Communication - created a new employee milestone communications template (email and/or SMS) that can be sent to employees to congratulate them on specific milestones (such as 1 year, 2 years, or 5 years). The communication is customisable and complements existing manager comms around milestone events.
  • Add retrospective leave option when an admin user is adding leave - the same options that are available when approving a retrospective leave application are now available to the admin user if they add retrospective leave on an employee's behalf.
  • PDF file export of payslips using correct ID - updated the ID used in the filename of the exported PDF for payslip to match the new universal payslip ID. 
  • Update the appearance of inactive admin/employees on the Users page - previously an inactive admin user description would be grey, while the status of the employee would appear as a badge next to the user's name on the User page. When a user had both an admin and employee profile it would look like the status of the employee profile was against the user as a whole. Inactive admins, operations, and employees will now all be in the greyed-out state on the user profile with a tooltip as to status.
  • Reference to Super threshold removed - after not being in operation for a full financial year, all references to the superannuation threshold have been removed from the platform.
  • Retain ETP payment info if name or date changed - when creating an ETP, if you change the name or payment date after filling in payment information, the information is no longer cleared. This means if a user realises an error in their initial selection, they don’t need to re-provide all the other information.
  • Retain communication settings credentials when turned off - when a user turns off emails or SMS after adding valid credentials and turns back on later, the original credentials will re-populate.
  • Hide the Invoice panel on the Operation page overview for users with no permission - an update has been made so the Invoice-related accordions on the Operation page no longer show to users with no invoice permission. 

ABA payment settings page revamped - released 8 August 2023 - the ABA payment settings page has been redesigned to make it far more user-friendly to help support customers with many paying entities or those that are adding new entities consistently.  The main changes are: 

  • Page layout update - entities list down the page instead of horizontally and improved scrolling, converted to standard settings layout with floating action bar to track changes. 
  • Improved tooltips and setting descriptions to explain the purpose of each entry. 
  • Transaction codes changed to a dropdown so only valid ABA codes can be selected. 
  • Removed the need for a user to supply a bank code - providing the BSB will populate the code for the relevant bank.
  • Payment date has set options to select - no longer free text.
  • Debit entry information doesn’t need to be repeated.
  • Previously foundU only settings for splitting files of certain lines or with duplicate accounts made customer-facing.
  • Clearer error handling. 

Bug fixes 

  • Clock log displaying distances for geo clocking - fixed a bug where the product would display a distance from a site that was very different from the number exported. The value displayed in the product and export now matches the recorded range from the site. 
  • Approve Shift completion trackers now include employees without a position - fixed an issue where in certain circumstances, the completion tracker would display 99% completed but no other shifts could be actioned. This resulted when an employee was transitioning between positions or employment types, resulting in a shift issue. The tracker will now consider these scenarios and report correctly. 
  • Existing Cost/PO code now displays as expected - existing codes will now display in a list as expected. The previously existing list would only show when clicking into the field. Tabbing into the field would fail to display this list.
  • Submitting timesheets more reliable on mobile devices - fixed an issue where in some cases submitting timesheets from a mobile device would timeout and return the user to the home screen rather than submitting.
  • Bulk shift offers failing to create - fixed a case where bulk shifts were in some cases not correctly being created but appeared to be created and offered.
  • Clocking in multiple times to one shift will no longer create duplicate shifts - where an employee clocked into the same shift twice in quick succession, a duplicate shift will no longer be created, rather the additional clock log should be discarded.
  • Update validation on the name when copy position used - fixed an issue that was preventing special characters that are allowed in position names from being added when copy position modal used.
  • STP - Pending Finalisation Pill - correction of the logic around the red notification dot indicating that there are packets to address for previous financial years in relation to finalisation. The red dot will no longer show if there are no packets to action.Update positions in the anniversary email template - fixed an issue for platforms that use the position token for the employee anniversary email to ensure the current position is used for this comm.
  • Fixed issue of incorrectly blocking payslips for duplicate shifts - a payslip with several different shifts on the same day all starting and finishing at the same time could incorrectly be put into this blocked state due to rounding of the finishing times. This will no longer occur.
  • Additional languages added to the language selector - the onboarding component for additional languages now includes Cantonese and Mandarin.
