Paid Family & Domestic Violence Leave

The long-awaited new leave entitlement for Family and Domestic Violence leave commences very soon.

From 1 February, employees of non-small businesses can get up to 10 days of paid Family and Domestic Violence leave, and small business employees can access this from 1 August.

The leave is not cumulative, so employees can access up to the full 10 days upfront, per 12-month period.  This also applies to part-time and casual employees.

Currently, all employees are entitled to 5 days of unpaid family and domestic violence leave under the National Employment Standards (NES).
